There have been about 162,380 confirmed cases of swine flu, and 1,154 deaths. So that’s a death rate of 0.7%. It should also be noted that a substantial portion of those deaths were in people with pre-existing conditions in undeveloped countries. The chances of a healthy person with access to modern health care dying of swine flu are quite slim.
